All Pagan — All OK

If you think Sunday keeping, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, New Years, Saint Patrick’s day, Valentines and a host of other pagan turned Saintly days are acceptable to God then stay away from this.

Often when people first learn that closely held traditions are pagan in origin they are quite shocked. A select few then make the correct and proper decision to avoid them evermore. Many probably get angry that I would point out the fact that they are and it is likely that just as many don’t care or simply ignore the fact. It is not the intention of this to go into the pagan origins of these holidays, many of which are kept worldwide, as we have other articles to the effect and it is an easily provable fact over the Internet.

Is Christmas directly condemned in the Bible? What about Halloween or Valentines? I have had people argue that unless they can see a THUS SAYS THE LORD, thou shalt not keep Halloween, it must be ok. Others argue that it may have been pagan but we Christianized it, a widely used tactic of the Catholic Church. Still others claim that it is fun and what’s the harm? Well hold onto your eyelids because you are about to clearly, easily and plainly see that it is all condemned by the Bible — God’s word — and that your only standing defense after this will be to either proclaim that the Bible is just an old retarded book of no significance, or that God simply does not exist. You may then happily proceed to your dark merriment and enjoy.

Paganism sounds like a mean condemning word doesn’t it? I use it a lot so that makes me and the God of the Old Testament mean and ugly. But in its proper context it simply means traditions of worship by other nations outside of Israel. According to God, the truth was given to them and all others were ignorant of that truth. Christ rather summed this up when He said, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.” Oddly enough though, especially around the fourth century, it seems the rest of the world got tired of being called the ignorant ones by the nasty little Jews and decided in their erudite philosophy that it was time for the tail to wag the dog, and so now, the so-called true knowledge comes from the nations or pagans – sorry I got nasty again. This great knowledge toward Christianity comes prepackaged in the Trinity, worldly holidays and much smoke and mirrors.

So then, if I can prove that religious teachings that come from the world, from pagans, those who bring in teachings from the outside and lay them at the feet of Christ is wrong, will you change? Will you discard the values of the world? If I can show you that you cannot Christianize paganism and make it all right, will you separate out paganism from your worship? Will you throw out your Christmas trees, crosses, Casper costumes, (who by the way was part of a ghostly trio (trinity) which included a good witch by which we were indoctrinated into paganism at a very young age), or will you rebel? Time again for a hated Bible quote, but I can’t resist, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft” (1Sam 15:23). Or will you continue to smear the teachings of this world onto God and claim to do it in order to a) have fun, b) indoctrinate new converts or c) claim you have a private secular side which is outside and ok of being Christian – perhaps a Jekyll and Hyde complex?

God said through Paul, “what communion has light with darkness?” The world thinks there is much in common but we are about to see through a few examples that God does not see it that way. Rather it is one of the most extreme of sins to say we walk the walk while smearing our bread with the knowledge of this world, lest we think Paul wasted good ink on reiterating that God said, “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

Ok, if it is ok to bless the things of the nations, that is to Christianize their practices, then what was all the fuss about in 2Kings 23, Ezekiel 8, Revelation 2 and a few others I could dig up? What am I talking about? Well read them and you will see that all three examples show God’s strong admonition against rubbing up against the world. In these examples we see God’s place of worship being polluted by paganism. We see sun worship, penis worship, idol worship and all sorts of sorcery, witchcraft and uncleanness being brought into God’s house. Against these things we see that God says He hates it, is against it, calls it an abomination and will cut off those who practice it. Now before you get feeble minded and dwell like a simpleton to aspire that was Baal worship which was sun worship (read Sunday worship) and is no more or was some other ancient Egyptian or Babylonian way, know that we are talking generalities here. These were pagan practices that men could and would have applied the same a, b and c principles aforementioned. Our son-of-pagan celebrations that have no teaching come not from God, serve no purpose and whose ideas are just as vain and futile as theirs, no more belong in and among Christianity than ancient paganism in the temple. If not, why the oft written Biblical admonition to, “Come out of her, my people”? What, was that only for people up until 90 A.D. and now we are to come out of cigarette smoking?

The examples I asked you to read show how the ancient Israelites, to whom were given the truth, could pollute the temple and cause God to go far away. The book of Corinthians clearly states that if you are God’s, then His spirit dwells in you and that makes you a tiny temple. Or as Paul wrote, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” When the Israelites brought paganism, or worldly teachings, into the temple they defiled it and so God allowed the ancient temple to be destroyed. I don’t think it hurt the building all that much. But then Paul went on to write, “If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” I kind of think that would hurt and so much for once saved, always saved.

This year as you put on your Halloween costume, put up your Christmas tree or roll your colored Easter (or Astarte, pagan goddess of love and sex) eggs, ... and think how wonderful it is that all this paganism is now Christianized, and how it doesn’t pollute your temple, perhaps you might want to tease your brain with why Christ needs to come back to restore His system of worship, or why He says the whole world has been Babylonized. Funny too—how it is that the one’s who are saved have to come out of the system. I’m sure that the system only has to do with smoking, since there is something bad mentioned in the Bible with regard to fire and brimstone, but right now I can’t recall. By the way can someone revise the scripture to read, You Jews worship what you do not know, for salvation is of the Gentiles.

“Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie; indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” (Rev 3:9)
