MESSIANIC
OPENING (Others may drop down to “Call to Worship”)
Lighting
of Candles
The father says:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the
Word was Elohim … Through him all things were made … In
him was life, and that life was the light of men. … The Word became
flesh and lived for a while among us. We have seen his glory, the glory
of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth (John 1:1,3,14). Yahshua is ‘the light of the world’
(John 8:12), the ‘true light that gives light to every man’
(John 1:9). Through him we are empowered to be lights in the world (Phil.
2:15). As we light these two Shabbat candles, we set this night apart
unto Yahweh to remember that we are given both physical rest and spiritual
rest through the gift of Yahweh by his Son, Yashua Messiah.
The mother lights two candles while saying this blessing:
Blessed are you, O Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe,
who has set us apart by your Word and has called us to be the light
of the world.
Blessing
Yahweh for the Wine
The father pours wine into a cup, and holds it up, saying:
Wine represents to us the joy that we have in knowing that through the
shed blood of Yahshua we have ceased from our labors and entered into
his rest. Through it we remember the price that he paid for our redemption.
The father prays this blessing:
Blessed are you, O Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe,
who creates the fruit of the vine.
All partake of the cup.
Blessing
Yahweh for the Bread
The father holds up the bread, saying:
Bread reminds us that we have shared the true bread from heaven in the
person of Yahshua, our Master.
The father prays this blessing:
Blessed are you, O Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe,
who brings forth bread from the earth.
All partake of the bread.

Call
to Worship
(based on Proverbs 22:1, 2, 8, 9, 22, 23)
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and good deeds
are better than silver or gold.
The rich and the poor have this in common: Yahweh is the maker
of them all.
Whoever sows injustice will find calamity as their harvest;
whoever shares bread with the poor will enjoy a harvest of blessing.
Do not rob the poor because they are poor, or crush the afflicted at
the gate;
for Yahweh pleads their cause and those who show no mercy will
receive no mercy.
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and good deeds
are better than silver or gold.

Who Shall Dwell on Thy Holy Hill? (Download

Psalm 15
Dwight Armstrong
O Eternal, who shall dwell in the temple of Thy grace?
Who shall on Thy Holy hill have a fixed abiding place?
He who walks in righteousness, all his actions just and clear;
He whose words the truth express, spoken from a heart sincere.
He who ne’er with slandering tongue utters malice and deceit;
Who will ne’er his neighbor wrong, nor a sland’rous tale
repeat.
Who will claim no usury, nor with bribes pollute his hand;
He who thus shall frame his life, shall unmoved forever stand.
Prayer of Approach
Not one of us is worthy to approach you, O Yahweh, Creator of the universe,
holy and all-powerful. Yet you have approached us and have shown us
the human face of your love in Yahshua, your Son, our Savior. He revealed
your love and mercy by living as he did — serving others and accepting
them as people made in your image and likeness. He pointed us toward
a world in which each and every person could realize his or her identity
as a precious child of yours. He even gifted us with your Holy Spirit
so that the very fabric of our existence is woven with the thread of
his life. May this time of worship be a true reflection of our thanksgiving,
wonder and praise over such blessings. This we pray in Yahshua’s
name. Amen.
**NOTE:
Offering a variety of different types of Messianic or sacred name music

Prayer on the Word
Judge not, that you be not judged.
Holy Yahweh, our joy and salvation, thank
you for being so patient with us; for not dealing out punishment as
we deserve, nor rewarding us according to our iniquities.
High among our iniquities is the way
we attempt to make ourselves feel better by harshly criticizing others.
Holy Father, it is bad enough that we
do find ourselves judging them, but what makes it worse is that we are
so selective in our condemnation. We have our personal, and sometimes
secret, ratings. We pick and choose, classify sins from “1 star”
(permissible) to “5 star” (unforgivable) evils. We rate
them in an ascending order that will allow us to look good in our own
eyes.
We may not admit our secret list to others.
Often we do not even admit it to ourselves. But we cannot hide it from
you. What a relief that is!
Please rescue us from that basic insecurity,
or those consuming anxieties, which urge us to put others down so that
we might feel good. Return us to the all-sufficient saving grace of
Messiah Yahshua, to that never-eroding rock on which we can build our
lives and not ever be confounded.
From that secure position, train us to
love others. Give us the liberty to be gentle in our approbation and
generous in our words and deeds.
May we see both ourselves and others
more clearly, trust your mercy more daringly, and love others with the
same graciousness which Messiah has taught us to love ourselves.
If, loving Father, we find our minds
slipping back into the old negative ways, then please give us such a
mighty shake up, that we find ourselves resting once more, like a grateful
climber, on the rock of our salvation.
In the name of Messiah Yahshua, let us
not judge, that we need never be judged again.
Amen.
Epistle
Reading
James 2:1-10, 14-17 RNKJV
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our
honorable Master Yeshua the Messiah with respect of persons.
2 For if there come unto your assembly
a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a
poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth
the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and
say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves,
and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not
YHVH chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom
which he hath promised to them that love him?
6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not
rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name
by the which ye are called?
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according
to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye
commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
(…)
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though
a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and
destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart
in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not
those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works,
is dead, being alone.
Prayer
of Confession
Master Yahshua Messiah, you swept away
centuries of prejudice when you reached out and accepted people as they
were — accepting them as loved fellow human beings.
We confess that we often fail to be as
inclusive as you.
Forgive us if people feel excluded from
our fellowship because of their appearance, their poverty, their lack
of power, or low self-image. Forgive us if people feel excluded from
our fellowship because of their addictions or lack of jobs.
Strengthen us, Yahweh, where we are weak,
and make us strong to withstand the seduction of a society which seems
obsessed with the acquisition of wealth and power. We know in our hearts
that discipleship demands an utterly new way of seeing people as you
did, and being with them unconditionally, as you were, but the journey
from heart to eyes and hands and feet can be long and difficult. We
pray your forgiveness, Holy Father, when we fail, and as people who
have received your mercy over and over, may we be as merciful and compassionate
in all we say and do in your name. Amen.
Assurance
of Forgiveness
We rejoice in the good news that Yahweh sent Yahshua into the world
not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through
him. Those who believe in him are not condemned, but forgiven (John
3:17-18).
Thanks be to Yahweh.
Hymn
#112 (Choral Arrangement)
Praise ye Yahweh (The Lord)!
(Download Hymn
#112 Right click, “save link as”)
Psalm 148
Dwight Armstrong
Praise ye Yahweh (the Lord)! Praise ye
Yahweh (the Lord)!
Praise from the heavens and praise in the heights.
Praise Him, ye angels, praise Him, ye hosts,
And praise Him ye sun, moon and stars in the heights.
Heaven of heavens, waters above;
Praise the Eternal let all praise His Name!
When He commanded they were created,
And by a decree fixed their bounds evermore!
Praise ye Yahweh (the Lord)! Ye mammals
and deeps too,
Fire, hail and wind storms fulfilling His word!
Vapours and snow all hills too, and mountains,
All cedars and fruitful trees, let’s praise His Name!
Wild beasts and cattle, birds and all reptiles,
Earth’s kings and judges, all people and chiefs;
Young men and maidens, old men and children;
All praise ye the Name of our Yah (God)
evermore!
Praise ye Yahweh (the Lord)! Praise ye
Yahweh (the Lord)!
Praise from the heavens and praise in the heights!
Praise Him ye angels Praise Him ye hosts,
His glory is higher than heaven above;
Yah (God) lifted high the horn of His people;
He has exalted the praise of His saints;
They are a people near unto Yahweh (God)
The children of Israel, praise ye Yahweh (the
Lord)!
Psalm Scripture Reading
Psalms 125:1-5 RNKJV
1 They that trust in YHVH shall be as mount
Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
so YHVH is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest
upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands
unto iniquity.
4 Do good, O YHVH, unto those that be good,
and to them that are upright in their hearts.
5 As for such as turn aside unto their
crooked ways, YHVH shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity:
but peace shall be upon Israel.
Gospel
Scripture Reading
Mark 7:24-37 RNKJV
24 And from thence he arose, and went into
the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would
have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter
had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician
by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out
of her daughter.
27 But Yeshua said unto her, Let the children
first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread,
and to cast it unto the dogs.
28 And she answered and said unto him,
Yes, master: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s
crumbs.
29 And he said unto her, For this saying
go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30 And when she was come to her house,
she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31 And again, departing from the coasts
of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst
of the coasts of Decapolis.
32 And they bring unto him one that was
deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put
his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude,
and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed,
and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35 And straightway his ears were opened,
and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36 And he charged them that they should
tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great
deal they published it;
37 And were beyond measure astonished,
saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear,
and the dumb to speak.

The Shema
“Hear, O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is one!” Blessed
be the name of Yahweh whose glorious kingdom is forever! (Deut. 6:4)
Yahshua said, “You shall love Yahweh your Elohim with all your
heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the
first and great commandment. And the second is like it: “You shall
love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt. 22:37-39)
Blessing
and Commission
Gracious and loving Yahweh, we offer our lives as signs that our faith
is expressed not in words alone, but in deeds—deeds performed
in the name and for the sake of Yahshua Messiah, our Master and Savior.
Amen.
